Nite Ride Kota Raja > Alam Impian > Shah Alam > i City

Arrived at home around 9pm and laid lazily playing with Nissa and Qaireen to kill some time .. Felt a bit tired and think to forget about tonite ride to Shah Alam .. The phone rang. It was Abg Wahid over the line.

"So how? I'm ready. I'm going to pick up Emad first. We'll meet at Lan's place. Ok?!! "

"Oh Ok Ok, but I .. "

"See you there", he cut before I could finish my words.

Take a shower, quick one. And straight to Lan's Bike Shop. Wahid and Emad arrived and we cycled to Apartment Seri Proton, Sungai Kandis the meeting point for Klang MTB riders. Let's rock and roll.

All riders from various clans of Klang

We heading to Shah Alam via Alam Impian. The group split to 3 packs. Front, middle, and back. Depend on speeding level of every rider. I put myself in the middle. Right after Alam Impian Plaza Tol, one bike has broke it's RD.  The ride was held a while to fix the incident. The clock showed 2315hrs, by 2345 the incident couldn't solved and the emergency tour had been call in to take the bike out. We continued the ride just on the midnite.

On LKSA Highway

Dataran Shah Alam, meet up with other groups

At the Dataran, Kayuhbeb group and some riders from PUJMAC were there already. No head count was made, just a warm chit chat about their Ramadhan experience this year. The origin plan was to i-City, via Section 8, and Section 7.

First ride in Ramadhan's nite

My buddy, Bon Rudy

i-City is the new nite tourist spot of Klang. It was fill with glowing artifial trees and other decorations.  And accessible from Bukit Raja Industrial and Section 7 Shah Alam.  During weekdays, it received around 5000 visitors and reached to 10000 visitors during weekends nite.

Trail Kota Raja > Bukit Kuda > Klang > Sg Pinang > Rantau Panjang > Port Klang > Sg Delek

View Trail Kota Raja > Bukit Kuda > Klang > Sg Pinang > Rantau Panjang > Port Klang > Sg Delek in a larger map

This is the longest rideable trail for me in KLANG. This route is very high traffic with trailers and lorries from North Port Klang to various linked highway to KL, North and South of Peninsular. Especially along Lebuhraya Selat Klang and Jalan Pelabuhan Utara. You are advisable to be at very high alert and noticeable while riding here.

Early morning and late evening are suitable time to ride but not at nite. The risk is very high.

Total distance : 40km
Riding hours : 1 and half hours

Early this month Farid and I had create a new route for routine ride. 100% on the road and cover almost 40km one round, the route could be completed about an hour non stop. Started from Kota Raja it headed to Kampung Kuantan, Bukit Kuda straight to Klang town. From the town turn left to Sg Pinang until Rantau Panjang. At the T junction, take left to Port Klang via Lebuh Selat Klang. Pay extra alert here due to high traffic of trailers, containers, and lorries along this road.

Lebuh Selat Klang will lead to Bandar Sultan Sulaiman where the road meet with Shapadu Highway. Turn left into Bandar Sultan Sulaiman to get rid of the traffic. Follow along the road till meet with the bridge to cross to Jalan Pelabuhan Utara. Again the traffics here is quite busy with speedy lorries and trailers in and out to the depot.

There is a junction at the left to Kampung Sg Delek. Take this route as the kampung road is clear from lorries and containers. Enjoy the view of tidy kampung with local fishing pool and other small and middle industries. The kampung road will lead back to Klang Town across Kampung Sg Sireh.

At the junction with traffic light, there are an 3 options to follow. Straight to JPA, left to Pengkalan Batu, and right to Jalan Raja Muda Musa. As the shortest road to Klang is go straight, followed by left and longest way to Klang is via right. At the Klang town we used to follow Jalan Stesen to final destination which is Kota Raja. End of route.

Enjoy ride, be safe.

The morning sky was clear, sign of the bright day. The bike and I was ready for the touring to Kuala Selangor. As planned, Bad arrived from Puchong at 0730hrs. He looked eagerly to ride that day. Must be well prepared and to show off this time, I guess.

From Klang we took Jalan Goh Hock Huat heading to north, crossing Lebuh Selat Klang to old Jalan Kapar. The road lead the way till Klang Perdana and further. But from Klang Perdana it is no longer called Jalan Kapar but Jalan Keretapi Lama. The old road is side by side with the new main road, which also known as Jalan Kapar, but crossing the kampung area. After an hour ride, we arrived Kapar and took a break.

The reserve area was named Taman Alam Kuala Selangor. Facilitate with chalets, camping area and watch towers for birding activities.

Next to the lighthouse is a Bukit Malawati Historical Museum. We rest here for prayer and lunch. The clock showed 1500hrs and the sky didn't shown any sign to rain. We decide to cycling back to Klang that evening. The ride back was smooth as this morning. This time, we used Jalan Kapar all the way to Klang town as we tried to reach home before dark. Come and join me next ride ?

Trail Kota Raja > Bukit Jati

Distance - 8.4 km

This route started at Jalan Demang 6, Taman Shahbandaraya. Head toward Kampung Pandan and ride along Lorong Azmi till the end. On right side is the KTM railway. There is a flyover to cross the railway safely to Jalan Bukit Jati 6A. DO NOT CROSS THE RAILWAY, USE THE FLYOVER. Take Jalan Bukit Jati 6A, Jalan Bukit Jati and turn left into Jalan Bukit Jati 4 and continue to Jalan Bukit Jati 1 untill  Jalan Pegawai. This first part of route is totally flat all the way except, climbing the flyover at Lorong Azmi to Jalan Bukit Jati 6A.

Back to Jalan Pegawai, do not turn left as the road will lead to main entrance into the Connaught Bridge Power Station which is district-ed to public. Take right to the Kilat Club House, across the tennis court and soccer field on the left-side of Jalan Bukit Jati 5C. The TNB quarters area is on the right-side located up the hill called Bukit Badak . Turn right at the T-junction of Jalan Raja Zainal to the KTM Bukit Badak and up hill to Jalan 3. Spend sometime around this quarters area to get some moderate climbing up and down. Watch out for monkeys and home guard security personel.

Back then to Jalan 3, there is a lorong next to old playground. Take the unmapped lorong to Jalan Bukit Jati. Turn left and then right and left again. Another flyover climbing to cross the railway. This will lead to main road of  Jalan Kota Raja and Jalan Sungai Jati. Turn right into Jalan Kota Raja and another right to Jalan Demang 5 straight to Jalan Demang 6, Taman Shahbandaraya. End of route.

There is another unmapped lorong on the right, after Jalan Bukit Jati flyover. This lorong will lead to Jalan Demang 7.  Overall this route is for easy going ride and cover with tar, even the unmapped lorong as well. Cross along kampung, housing estate, quarters area and some bushes. For those outsider wanna try this route you can start from Off Jalan Pegawai. There is a parking area in front of tennis court Jalan Bukit Jati 5C. Enjoy the ride and be safe.

Wanna join me ?!!
