Project - Jalan Keretapi Lama

I'm supposed to ride with DETC to Sg Sendat this week .. but unfortunately the health condition are not so well .. while online i've come across with wan mohd faiz posting about his last ride around kuala lumpur tracking down the old railway in the town .. the project is so impressive .. it just not only about the ride . but fitted the ride with some purpose, to dig in and find out what had happen now to something we had forgotten ..

he also mentioned about a line from klang to kuala selangor .. that made sound to me .. so i started to google to find out more about the said railway track .. i could make a trail / route along this line for bike touring and expedition ..

In year 1886
First Kuala Lumpur Station known as Kuala Lumpur and was located near Market Street opened in 19 September 1886. The next section opened was the 21-mile run between Kuala Lumpur and Klang River (Bukit Kuda), Residen Station was built within this line.

Federated Malay States Railway has opened the line between Klang and Kuala Selangor .

1st June 1913 - Kapar - Jeram 
1st September 1913 - Jeram - Assam Jawa   
15th February 1914 - Assam Jawa -  Kuala Selangor

Event - OCBC Communities Ride 2013

the ride to ocbc was masterplan and diusahakan oleh saudara Pesot .. berkali2 meeting, berpuluh gelas air dorder .. berkeping2 roti dibanjiiri .. dan berbakul2 janji dicapati .. akhirnya kami sampai juga rotor x team ke kota metropolitan kuala lumpur ..

what is so happening about hs event ? sure there must something .. as a first timer, i don't expect much .. but i ride with a mission .. of course .. pack the pannier on rear rack .. left them empty .. just fit with the spare tiub, short hand pump, and basic tools .. the mission ? it is classified and filed as over top secret ..


1 car, 1 mpv, 1 van and 9 bikes mounted and prepared .. wak rossi, haji hamid, hamdan and I together with farid will be moving to event avenue with farids's van .. while pesot and fairus in the mpv, and asz lan and fifi with slk .. wahid, raja and faiz are were WOT .. with out trace ..

Bikes on the transportation

as preset we will move at 0500 hours .. suboh in Imbi and headed to resembling point masjid damai, ampang after that .. 0715hrs we already in ampang park and headed straight to the starting point at the great Petronas Twin Tower .. it is beleive more than 5000 riders from multi genre of bycicle are gathered here in kuala lumpur this morning ..

the event today by ocbc was divide into two categories .. the challenge 48km and communities ride 24km ..

the route started from twin tower to kl tower and maybank tower .. turn right to dataran merdeka and climb up to parliment .. make u turn at tugu negara junction, enjoy the downhill along padang merbuk
and make turn infront of BNM to bukit tunku ... long climb but lucky it is shades along the way up and down to PWTC ..

get down to jalan kuching and to jalan TAR .. even early in the morning, the road are quit busy and
fill with moorist and pedestrian .. the route turn to i don't know what name .. but i recognise one of the junction .. the famous dooraisamy .. and back to jalan ampang that lead to twin tower again .. but it is only 12km ..huh what else ? repeat for another loop to complete the 24km ...

Rotor X Team

at this point i saw no one of rotor x team along the way ... hmm they difinitely fast and furios lahhh .. a day before, morning and evening they have made some warming up ride .. i didn't join, i was working on saturday due to some test ..thus, the warming up is just for amatuer riders .. heheheh jgn marah yer pesot ..

Fully utilize the opportunity riding in KL

hmm quite somehing la the route ... i took this as an advantage to tour in kl safely .. with blocking roads, traffic officers on guard, and media coverages .. wow this is really awesome kl tour .. just an execuse to ride at the back and slow .. hahahaha ..and so, i could meet with other riders .. make new friend along the ride .. and learn their prespective of riding a bicycle .. i could say .. many of todays riders are seasonale .. they jump in as a it is a trend of healthy life style ..

how frequent they are on bike? it doesn't matter .. as long as they ride, enjoy and safe ..

tapi kita hanya merancang, sebaik2 rancangan adalah rancangan tuhan ..

back to the event .. all 24km finishers are awarded with a medal .. and welcome back drink of 100PLUS .. huh .. thank you very much ocbc and f&n .. this event was considered successful and worth joining .. hope they will organize next year .. till then
