Tour – Penang Round Island

Round island is in my 2013 Tour Calendar .. Since there is opportunity to make it in 2012 .. why wait 2013 .. bring it forward .. so I have slot for another adventure .. dream, plan and execute .. the date was set to 29 and 30 of the December .. I opened the invitation to other Rotorian .. and Raja answered the call .. and only him .. the usual suspect and partner in crime ..

Roughly the plan are to complete the tour in one day .. once touch down in penang, as early as we can .. start the ride from Georgetown to Bayan Lepas .. then Balik Pulau and ahead to Teluk Bahang .. return back to the town in the evening in one loop ..sound rideable .. that’s what ordinary riders did on their weekend ride .. but we’re no ordinary duo ..

 

After meeting with Raja and others for this ride briefing .. seem, it is better to make it as an easy and leisure bike tour .. put in some time in the masterplan .. and devide the island into 2 sections to conquer .. I rearrange the plan and make it a 2 days tour .. day 1, cover the town area till teluk kumbar .. next day, continue the tour to balik pulau, teluk bahang and back to Georgetown .. done 

Day 1

Why Penang ? About 80km perimeter around the island .. it offer a viewable ride along the way .. the city is among tourist attraction in the country.. Georgetown has been declared as World Heritage Site in July 2008 .. with lines of residences and shops building that was build since 1800s and 1900s .. it is a live museum of cultures, commercials and politics .. they are preserved and restored for future generations ..

Day 2

We were at the back side of the island .. where the district got its name .. Balik Pulau .. which means di sebalik pulau itu .. other side of the island .. the roadscape is dramatically change .. most of the time we have to climb the hills .. no dragon backs .. just a long and steady .. when on top .. the view is more magnificent .. agriculture is the main activities in this area .. it offer ecotourism with tropical fruit farms and village living experience ..

pagi tadi, satu ride recovery diadakan utk wak rahim .. ringan2 kayuh ramai2 dgn Rotorian pekena cendol kat jeram .. walaupun mula tajuk macam kuala selangor , oleh kerana beberapa insiden yang tidak dpt dielakkan .. maka nya kayuhan sampai ke sg buloh, jeram sahaja ..

wak rahim and kak ija are schedule to depart from port klang to tanjung balai .. on their mission to conquer danao toba .. wak had tell me the plan and invite me to join him .. to be frank and sincere .. i am not up to that level phisical and mental to ride such tour .. thus i've no passport to be out of this country ..

Tour - Sg Tekala > Jeram Toi

broga 116 .. is the famous route among roadies in klang valley ... it was name broga loop as the riders usually park their vehicle at the nottingham university in broga .. as for me .. this route hold a nostalgic sentiment in me personally .. was a usual road for my family and me from and onto between jelebu and kajang or kuala lumpur .. lots of interesting stories behind it .. spare it later ..

back to the main agenda .. i have set to take this route in my touring calendar 2013 .. but when it seen an opportunity to hit the road .. why not make it early .. and soon again next year .. perhaps ..

Get set

on 09 dec as early as i can ... wake up in the morning and pick up wak rossi .. from sg kandis was around 8am and we were heading to sg tekala, semenyih .. expected to arrive at 10 .. alhamdulillah
by 0930 we have arrived .. assemble the bike and take off at 11am .. 11am ?!! don't ask ..

The roadblock by authorities at the disaster site

it was reported that the road closed somewhere in semenyih damn .. it was very bad .. not just a  landslide, the road was totally disconnected as wide as 200m and 100m depth .. no way anyone could cross it .. the incident has affected the broga 116 race that schedule on the same date .. so, we couldn't make a complete loop this time ..

 

Jeram Toi, Jelebu, Negri Sembilan

 think of minor changing from the masterplan .. i've decided to ride until jeram toi and return via same route back to the starting point .. hmm no touring, consider this as part of the training .. yap .. training for touring .. to be frank .. i still couldn't get the true spirit of touring .. ride slowly, enjoy viewing and sight seeing .. approach local people, stop by at the fruit stall or kedai kopi along the way .. not yet while tour alone .. i just could ride and ride .. climb and climb .. taking advantages while down the hill ..

 yes, i'm physically fit and mentally tune for long journey .. but inside me, the soul still lack of something or somehow or somewhat .. i donno ?!!! need mentor to guide thru ... for the moment a guru just advice me one .. listen to the force dean ... listen ..

when the first time i mounted the rack to the bike .. i told someone that the rack is for this two kids to seat .. i'm taking them together while i'm ride .. and that's definitely a lie .. bohong sunat :p .. but this evening, i make my words .. after short warming up ride around kota raja .. i get back home and see this two fellas were playing outside the house .. witwit and yaya .. 2 and 3 years old ..

Tour - Kuala Selangor with Wak and Kang

got a chance to ride and tag along with wak rahim and kak ija .. immediate plan but very late to  confirm .. i was free and easy this week .. since no reply from wak on friday's night .. i'm not setting
the bike for touring ..

the rotorian got plan soto ride to rantau panjang with fifi, amdan and raja .. later farid was joining at the warung .. while having a soto, the rain was pouring down heavily .. and long .. and i received the text from wak .. S24O kuala selangor in on .. ok !! just need to go back to kota raja and pickup the things only ..

since it was late, i drove straight to perepat .. once arrival, both of them were ready outside .. put everythings on and start the ride .. took last merdeka raya route thru pantai remis beach track and get on the road from sg buloh to kuala selangor ..

we took an inside road thru kampung and kebun along the way .. with green scenery and old houses, some are worth to stop by and photograph ..

The road has been upgrading

this was my third attempt via this route .. the road condition were not so bad .. only in certain area where it has been used by heavy vehicle, the damage was intolerance to ride .. with big holes and stiff edges to go thru .. it was impossible to get thru in the raining condition .. was skip once during ride with wak rossi and abg wahid last time ..

pantai remis is a recreational place for family's picnic and walk ..  with local seafood restaurant, they serve various choice of kerang, remis, crab and fish cuisine .. pick the rite place to eat with reasonable price and taste ..

wak rahim ordered kerang bakar .. according to him, the sauce from this stall are tastier than others .. and it was proven tastier .. thanks wak .. later i will repeat here again ..

we planned to take brake at kedai gulai ketam .. unfortunately they were close .. so, we move forward to seek other good place to brake .. luckily there is one .. couldn't recall the place name but it serve mee bandung muar special .. and have a nice long hut with electric plug .. time to recharge ..

1433 melabuh tirai .. dan 1434 menyusul dgn lembaran muka yang baru .. muhasabah perjalanan dan liku2 hidup selama ini .. apakah diisi dgn iman dan pengabdian diri secara total kepadaNya ?!! apakah setiap kayuhan selama ini dititip dgn zikir ?!! apakah keringat dan perit selama ini menginsafkan dan membuatkan aku lebih dekat dgnNya ?!! allahu akbar ..

kayuhan pagi tadi disertai oleh sahabat baru iaitu cikgu Abu .. semalam masa jumpa kat taman beriya2 dan bersemangat sekali .. basikal pun dah berhabuk kata nya .. sejak dia angkat basikal, rase2nyer sekali jer lah kot dia kayuh .. tu pun dari tempat beli ke rumah .. hmmm .. nak buat lagu mana .. komitmen terhadap kerja dan keluarga serta komuniti lebih tinggi .. hingga tiada masa untuk berkayuh ..

apa pun tahniah diucapkan kepada cikgu abu .. dlm percubaan pertamanya, alhamdulillah dapat cover sejauh 40km keliling kelang .. bermula ke stadium, seterusnnye bandar botanik mengorat manja .. dan kenyang melantak lontong kayuhan diteruskan mengelilingi bandar botanik dan menyusur keluar ke batu unjur melalui taman bayu .. kat sini hujan mula turun mencurah2 .. lebat .. hingga memaksa kami berteduh di kaki lima kedai ..

bilamana hujan pun reda .. kayuhan diteruskan ke jeti pulau ketam .. hujan dan rehat tadi telah menganjak jadual perjalanan yang dirancang .. hampir 1 jam terlewat dari jadual asal .. semangat cikgu masih membara walau basah dicurah hujan .. kayuhan melewati kampung delek dalam dan terus ke bandar klang .. cuaca pun dah cerah dan mentari kembali .. menyinar dgn terik seperti tidak berawan langit klang ..

utk menutup kayuhan sulong cikgu abu .. kami pekena dia dgn laluan benteng .. mmg lecak dan licin lah .. offroad sepanjang 3 km sepanjang sungai klang tidak lah mencabar mana .. disetengah2 bahagian sahaja yang teruk becak .. lain2 masih boleh dilalui dgn mudah .. melepasi 3 pintu kunci air kami sampai ke bukit jati .. melepas lelah dipuncak bukit sambil menikmati panorama .. bukit jugra dan kawasan kayuhan yg telah dilalui tadi ..sedikit sebanyak dpt memberi kemanisan dan meningkatkan motivasi utk berkayuh lagi pada masa hadapan ..

Ride - Kpg Kastam

one fine evening .. no rain and the sun shine bright .. thinking about to ride around .. but feel so lazy and busy .. with nothing of course .. since it is nothing to do at home .. nothing i can do at home ..
took out the bike and ride to the stadium ..

raja was there waiting, but hafifi aren't around .. no need to wait ... we headed to kampung delek .. the destination is stesen komuter kampung kastam .. to shoot around the area .. among the best location for outdoor session .. hence today is 11 11 12 .. there are many couple choose today to get married ..

once arrived the location, as expected we saw a newly wed couple and his photog team are doing some shooting scene on set .. not to bother them we shoot aound the area .. with our own theme .. bike and train ..
